• Sits due west of Yamhill County’s seat, the city of McMinnville and extends approximately 20 miles south-southwest toward the mouth of the Van Duzer corridor
• The most westerly of all Oregon AVAs
• The soils are primarily uplifted marine sedimentary loams and silts, with alluvial overlays and a base of uplifting basalt and are uniquely shallow for grape growing
• The AVA includes 14 wineries and 523 acres (2.1 km2) of vineyards
• Includes lands with elevations ranging from 200 to 1,000 feet (300 m)
• Best known for Pinot Noir
