Ordinarily I write about a particular grape variety or a wine region, but I wanted to change things up a bit this month. I felt it would be remiss if I didn’t write something relating to St. Valentine’s Day. Although this holiday is not necessarily associated with wine, it is associated with chocolate. The whole wine and chocolate thing is overdone, especially this time of year. Every writer who thinks they know anything about wine is writing about what to pair with chocolate. I’ve even read some “experts” that state you should never pair wine and chocolate. Blasphemy! So I guess I’ll throw my proverbial hat into the ring to prove these naysayers wrong….
